D addario ProSteel The brightest strings in the Daddario family, both in terms of volume and treble, ProSteels are stainless steel roundwounds with a hex core.These strings use steel alloy, which help add low end depth to round out the brightness of the strings.

The D’Addario Prosteel string is best known for its bright but still warm sound with great harmonically rich tones that seem to make your bass guitar sing like a piano. For some this is perhaps one of the most sought after sounds for their bass guitar.

This particular string is available in three gauges which mean you can really get the tone and tension you wish without too much effort.

D’Addario is one of those manufacturers that seem to always produce great strings. This is really understandable as they have been in business since the 1600’s so clearly they know their craft.

What do other players think about this string? I really could not find many bad reviews of this particular string which is really surprising, as opinions are usually strong especially on the forums. Clearly, the customers also love this string too.

While the number of reviews for this string was pretty low admittedly, what was said was very positive. I know for every bad product there has to be at least some who hate it. I just simply could not find one, and I really did look.

For the price you are going to be getting a string that will last for a very long time too. That seems to be the number one complaint of every bass guitarist. We all know what it is like buying a set of strings for 30 to 35 dollars and then being extremely disappointed when they only last a week or two. These will last far longer.

The construction of these steel strings is very solid, and they have a good feel even though of course being steel they are a bit rougher than nickel.

You can always rely on a ProSteel to cut through the mix and help you stand out. If you are in a louder rock band, especially if you have any solos then this would be an ideal choice. If you want to stand out then this is clearly the choice for you.
